What is Proprioceptive Stimulation

Proprioceptive stimulation is a holistic technique which eliminates or greatly reduces debilitating pain in the muscles and joints. Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy uses proprioceptive stimulation to eliminate or greatly reduce the postural distortions and associated musculoskeletal pain generated from Rothbarts Foot or the PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity.

  • A tactile stimulation is applied to the bottom of the foot
  • This stimulation generates a signal that is sent to the cerebellum (the balance/postural center of the brain)

  • Acting on this signal, the cerebellum initiates global postural correction, foot to jaw
  • This correction in posture (e.g., joint and muscle alignments) facilitates the body's readjustment towards a state of homeostasis (maintenance of a constant and stable condition).
  • Chronic body problems are resolved.

This website presents a synopsis of the material covered in course levels I-IV taught at the International Academy of Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy (IARPT)

This website does not contain information which teaches a medical practitioner on how to use Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy.
