Discussion: In this case, the sciatic nerve is being mechanically compressed against the greater sciatic notch by the severe anterior rotation of the innominates (e.g., Piriformis Syndrome). The anterior rotation of the innominates is secondary to the abnormal foot motion resulting from the PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity.
Focus of Therapy: To reduce the anterior rotation of the innominates
Subjective Outcome: Patient states “The pain is becoming less frequent and less intense”
Objective Postural Outcome: Anterior rotation of the innominates has been reduced sufficiently to reduce the mechanical compression of the Sciatic nerve (See Animation below).
Further Therapy Planned: Pilates to strengthen the abdominal muscles, weight reduction
