At flatfoot the ankle twists laterally (See Arrow 1 in above gait analysis). This is discerned as a lateral thrust of the lower leg.
At late midstance the foot abnormally pronates (See Arrow 2 in above gait analysis). This occurs when the ipsilateral leg is externally rotating
