Measuring the Kyphotic Angle


The standard (Cobb) measuring technique for the quantification of thoracic kyphosis, in the presence of vertebral body end-plate deformity, tends to overestimate the degree of kyphosis.  The Goh measuring technique is more accurate for kyphotic curves. (See Diagram below).
