Varus alignment of the talar bone changes the position of the forefoot:
In 1996 Daniels et al published a paper describing a direct correlation between the varus alignment of the talar neck and the position of the forefoot. On twelve cadaver feet, when they introduced a 17.1 (plus or minus) varus malalignment of the talar neck (via a medial based wedge osteotomy), it resulted in a 11.5 (plus or minus 2.4) degree adduction of the forefoot.
